Convenient location for Everglades Visit

This hotel is located on west side of Miami which was convenient for visiting the Everglades. It allowed us to avoid traffic to reach both the Shark Valley Visitor Center in the north Everglades and, on the next day, the Ernest Coe Visitor Center/Anhinga Trail area in the southern part of the Everglades (both areas recommended!) The hotel was also not far from the Coral Gables area of Miami. We did also stay 2 additional nights in South Beach to explore that area. The room was clean and comfortable and provided all the necessities. Parking was free and convenient. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Our only complaint was not having any place to hang a towel - not a single hook or towel rack - so it was hard to re-use our towel. Water pressure was low, too. We questioned the $1.50/day charge for using the safe deposit box, and the desk clerk said he'd waive it. But then it was on our bill at check-out and we had to dispute it. They agreed to remove the charge, but it just seemed like a waste of time and effort for everyone. Still a good stay overall!

I booked through Expedia. I booked for two nights due to a family emergency. My friend lost her husband on the same day I booked because she couldn’t fathom the idea of staying in the same home where he had passed. She was, as anyone could imagine, lost and there was nothing that could comfort her. Out of desperation and worry she asked me to book two nights away from the home. So I did. As family began to arrive and mourn the loss, including family from out of the area, she decided to stay in the home with the family. So she asked me to cancel. I reached out to Expedia and they did the best they could to get me my refund back. At least for one day that was within 24 hours. We struggled to reach the hotel and lack of personnel seemed to be a huge probably. After several attempts, we finally got someone on the phone and they told us that they would get back to us within 72 hours. Well, they did, and their respond was, that they have strict policies on refunds. Well, as anyone can see at the hotel, no one checked in those two nights, and the hotel rooms were never used. I’m so disappointed in management. I’m certain that there are certain rules that could be bent in extenuating circumstances. I’m certain, that where there is a will, there is a way. So please don’t send me an apology for the inconvenience. It has been hard enough as it is! I expected some leniency, considering the situation. I’m appalled. No sense of compassion. I hope the amount not refunded is used to save someone’s job.

Professional service with a smile, recognized as a Choice member, fine internet, perfect location for going to Everglades. The hotel is clean and has good beds. Nothing fancy, but it was just fine. You get more value here than closer to the airport.

Great place to stay. Very convenient across the street from the hospital which is why we chose it . From our check in to our check out was just great and exceeded our expectations . Rooms are big , plenty of room . Refrigerator and microwave and sink mini kitchen set up . Quiet at night when sleeping. We would definitely stay there again . Breakfast was ok . There’s a Publix 5 minute walk from the hotel . Plenty of restaurants around , coffee shops stores etc . We felt very safe being there .

Okay so there is pros and cons with this place so let's start listing them Pro: the price for a MIami hotel was very good Very clean - it felt safe - surprisingly quiet very hospitable service Cons: it is an older hotel (it is kept up, as i said clean and can tell it is kept up - no chips, peeling paint, mold, rust, bloodstains, etc - maybe the rugs could use a little help) - but being older, there's drawbacks (small bathroom, rickety gym equipment) The TV choices were meh, as was the breakfast The surrounding area is very busy (although as i said the traffic noise was not heard within our room) No really decent restaurants nearby My recommendation is if you are on a budget and dont care about having all the latest bells and whistles and dont mind driving to get to other places, this is an absolutely fine choice
